Curves and a fairytale bookshop
Livraria Lello – Porto: the most beautiful bookshop
As you walk through the doors of this bookshop you’ll notice that there is a wonderful stairway and the wooden walls are also very exquisite. The upper floor is filled with remarkable architectural items such as the Art Deco details on the walls, the bookcases and the columns coming from the ground floor; the wooden carvings and the stained glassed skylight also create an amazing magic mood. If you ever come to Porto, don’t miss this neo-Gothic gem from the beginning of the twentieth century.
JK Rowling lived in Porto for a few years working as an English teacher before writing Harry Potter and it is said that this bookshop, (yes!) has inspired her!

Pure
“The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides.” – Jules Vernes
Portinho da Arrábida, Portugal
Numbers, birthdays and time
” Somewhere close, yet far enough, there’s a place where time cannot reach. A time suspended in a moment, where the Earth starts turning, and where you know I’ll be waiting. I’ll be the wings that keep your heart in the clouds and you’ll be the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground.”
