These pictures were taken inside a very famous monastery in the north of my country, Mosteiro de Cete. It was one of those once-in-a-lifetime mornings. When life is sweet and you just want to say thank you.
As you walk through the doors of this bookshop you’ll notice that there is a wonderful stairway and the wooden walls are also very exquisite. The upper floor is filled with remarkable architectural items such as the Art Deco details on the walls, the bookcases and the columns coming from the ground floor; the wooden carvings and the stained glassed skylight also create an amazing magic mood. If you ever come to Porto, don’t miss this neo-Gothic gem from the beginning of the twentieth century.
JK Rowling lived in Porto for a few years working as an English teacher before writing Harry Potter and it is said that this bookshop, (yes!) has inspired her!
