Livraria Lello – Porto: the most beautiful bookshop
As you walk through the doors of this bookshop youโll notice that there is a wonderful stairway and the wooden walls are also very exquisite. The upper floor is filled with remarkable architectural items such as the Art Deco details on the walls, the bookcases and the columns coming from the ground floor; the wooden carvings and the stained glassed skylight also create an amazing magic mood. If you ever come to Porto, don’t miss thisย neo-Gothic gem from the beginning of the twentieth century.
JK Rowling lived in Porto for a few years working as an English teacher before writing Harry Potter and it is said that this bookshop, (yes!) has inspired her!

It’s like the pages of the books were enliven in each details of this bookstore. So beautiful and the details are really work of art. I specifically love the ceiling. Beautiful architecture indeed.
